The Green Bay Packers will be hosting the 2025 NFL Draft this year and they hope to keep their first-round pick in the process. Green Bay is 9-4 this season and they are currently the sixth seed in the NFC. It will be interesting to see what position the Green Bay Packers will address in the 2025 NFL Draft.
One of the biggest needs for Green Bay this offseason will be cornerback. The South Carolina Gamecocks could very well have a defensive back be drafted in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Profootballnetwork.com Has the Green Bay Packers Selecting Safety Nick Emmanwori From the South Carolina Gamecocks In the Latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Profootballnetwork.com writer Ryan Gosling wrote his latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft on Tuesday. He has the Green Bay Packers selecting South Carolina Gamecocks safety Nick Emmanwori with the 26th overall pick. Gosling said:
“Nick Emmanwori has not received enough love in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Nobody seems to care about safeties, but one built like a linebacker who plays the back end like Kyle Hamilton did at Notre Dame should have everyone’s juices flowing. Watch how he impacted the Alabama, Oklahoma, or Missouri games, and there’s nothing that suggests Emmanwori should be considered anywhere outside of the top half of Round 1.
Although his unique measurables are scary on the surface for his position, there is no stickiness to his movements, he carries downfield with ease, and he’s an incredibly intelligent boundary safety for the Gamecocks.”
Nick Emmanwori is a junior this year with South Carolina. He has recorded 83 tackles, recorded four interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, and two pass deflections. Even though the Green Bay Packers are strong at safety with Xavier McKinney, Evan Williams, and Javon Bullard, you can never have enough depth at safety.
Adding Emmanwori to this team would be a luxury. They do need more athletes in the secondary, but it would be preferable to draft a cornerback.
Cornerback Help Needed More
Green Bay is going to need help at cornerback in 2025. They could very well use a couple of draft picks in that position. Jaire Alexander and Keisan Nixon are the current starters. Eric Stokes will most likely not be back next season. Also, Alexander has been more prone to injuries and they will need to find their number-one cornerback of the future.
It wouldn’t be a horrible decision if the Green Bay Packers selected South Carolina Gamecocks safety Nick Emmanwori. However, if they were to draft another safety, Green Bay needs to make sure that he can also play cornerback as well.
