The Green Bay Packers have four tight ends on their depth chart, with Tucker Kraft generally considered as the No. 1 in the group, followed by Luke Musgrave. They also have Ben Sims and John FitzPatrick as backups in the position.
Kraft only has two seasons in the NFL under his belt, but there’s still plenty of room for growth for the former South Dakota State Jackrabbits star.
In the 2024 NFL campaign, Kraft had 707 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 50 receptions and 70 targets while appearing on the field in all 17 games in the regular season.
As legendary as the Packers franchise is, Green Bay has yet to produce a tight end with a 1,000-yard season. Kraft could be that guy, and for Jason Wilde of Channel 300, he predicts that the 24-year-old TE will lead all players in the position in the coming season in terms of touchdown catches.
“The truly top-flight tight ends are game-changers with their red-zone production and reliability when points are at a premium, and that’s another area where Kraft can get even better. Last season, Baltimore’s Mark Andrews (11), San Francisco’s George Kittle (eight) and Miami’s Jonnu Smith (eight) were the only tight ends in the NFL with more TD catches than Kraft.”

Green Packers Fans Divided Over Bold 2025 TE Projection

Wilde’s bold take has been a subject of passionate discussion on the Reddit subgroup r/GreenBayPackers. Here are some of the reactions from the fans:
“His effectiveness in the end zone was wild given his targets, if he’s really as good as I think most of us believe he is it’s not a horrible bet.”
“💯%Assuming he takes the typical year 3 “leap” TEs seem to do, he is primed to get double digits.”
“It is very unlikely, considering we have so many solid pass catchers, and there are TEs in the league like Bowers and McBride, etc.”
“5-7 receptions for 50-70 yards should be the standard for tuck. Dude is a legitimate weapon, he needs more targets”
“Him and Love are in the perfect spot to take the next step. I’m so excited for this season. More than usual.”
“Unlikely, having Musgrave back will cut back on his targets. I could go along with having the most TDs by a TE duo tho.”
