Green Bay Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper is having a standout rookie campaign, so much so that many are campaigning for him to be a full-time starter in 2025 after receiving a powerful endorsement from head coach Matt LaFleur.
“I mean, I think he’s so talented, and I think the sky’s the limit for him, and I love having him, but it’s just the consistency of which you play. I mean, so you’ve just got to make sure you’re dialed in, and we know he’s an incredible talent,” LaFleur said via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette after the team’s Week 17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
“He’s going to make some splash, and he did. But I think there’s another level there that he can continue to take his game to,” he added.
The Texas A&M product started the year as a backup linebacker, but he has earned more playing time as the season progressed. Overall, Edgerrin Cooper has amassed 53 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, one interception, and one forced fumble in his first 13 NFL games.
