The Green Bay Packers are more than just about what Jordan Love and the offense can bring to the table. Coming off a strong performance in 2024, the Packers’ stop unit is also viewed as among the major strengths of the team. Last season, Green Bay was fifth in the NFL with only 20.0 points allowed per game and fourth overall with just 313.2 total yards surrendered per contest.
Entering his second season in the pros, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper is looking to make an even bigger impact on the field after a solid showing in his rookie campaign in the NFL.
A hamstring injury caused him to miss three games in the middle of the 2024 season, but his two NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors underscored his immense potential to be one of the best in the league.
Overall, Cooper recorded 3.5 sacks, four passes defended, 87 combined tackles and two fumble recoveries in 14 games for the Packers in his first year in the NFL.

Diet helped Green Bay Packers LB bulk up but makes a food admission amid training campaign

According to Packers.com editor Mike Spofford, Cooper has added 10 to 12 pounds to his frame. Now tipping the scales at 240 pounds, Cooper said that a combination of diet and training helped him put on some weight, but he also admitted that he still hasn’t completely gotten rid of one unhealthy food.
The hardest of the “bad foods” he had to give up?
“Nutter butters,” Cooper said. “I still sneak one in every now and then. Can’t change the routine too much.”
Nevertheless, Cooper appears to be ready to make a big statement and turn more heads in 2025 for the Packers, who won 11 games in 2024.
“I’m stronger. I feel I’m able to hold my ground more,” added the former Texas A&M Aggies star. “Just those things I wish I had last year.
“Still same speed. I feel like I’m still moving around. I’m just ready to get after it.”
