The Green Bay Packers are preparing for their Week 18 clash against the Chicago Bears, and the team released some positive news on the defensive side of the field.
According to the Green Bay Packers’ latest injury report, Devonte Wyatt was a full participant last Wednesday and Thursday. However, the 26-year-old defensive tackle is still in the concussion protocol.
Having a 100 percent fit Devonte Wyatt will be a huge boost on the defensive line since he was one of the brightest spots in Green Bay’s Week 17 defeat against Minnesota. The Georgia product was the highest-graded defender on the team, as he was given a PFF grade of 91.8 in his short time on the field.
After a strong performance in the first half, Wyatt was pulled out of the match after sustaining a concussion. He finished the game with four pressures, all hurries, on 10 pass-rushing snaps.
Green Bay Packers’ Matt LaFleur was effusive in his praise of Devonte Wyatt
Devonte Wyatt has emerged as one of the Green Bay Packers‘ best run defenders this season. The third-year pro has 22 total tackles, nine of which were for a loss, five sacks (good for second in the team), and two fumble recoveries in 13 matches.
“Yeah, I think he’s done a nice job. I think he’s been pretty productive,” LaFleur said about Wyatt via Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated. “He’s always had the talent, and he’s finally putting it together, I’d say. That’s the expectation. You’ve got to continue to push and get better and better and better. So, I’m happy with his play.”
