The Green Bay Packers are preparing for their season finale against the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Lambeau Field, and they will likely be without one of their top playmakers, Christian Watson.
Christian Watson was absent in the Green Bay Packers’ Week 17 defeat against the Minnesota Vikings due to a knee injury. Head coach Matt LaFleur shared that the former no. 34 pick is “feeling better” but didn’t practice on Thursday, putting his status in limbo this weekend.
“I would say that he’d have to get some work in tomorrow if he’s going to play on Sunday,” LaFleur said about Watson via Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated.
Christian Watson has played in 14 games for Green Bay this season, tallying 29 catches for 620 yards and two touchdowns. The Green Bay Packers are officially qualified for the playoffs, and they could finish either as the seventh or sixth seed, depending on this weekend’s results.
Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love gets 100% real on Christian Watson’s availability
In a perfect world, Jordan Love will throw passes to Christian Watson against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. However, the Green Bay Packers quarterback sees the bigger picture, as he would rather see his wide receiver 100 percent fit come the postseason.
“He’s definitely a guy we want to have out there,” Love said about Watson. “If he goes this week or not, I think we’ll be just fine. But, definitely, hoping to get him back when we do start playoffs and hoping that he can keep recovering and getting healthy.”
