The Green Bay Packers (11-5) take on the Chicago Bears (4-12) on Sunday at noon in their final game of the 2024 NFL regular season. Green Bay came into the day already knowing that they would be without two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander who had season-ending knee surgery and has been placed on injured reserve.
In addition, safeties Evan Williams (quad) and Zayne Anderson (concussion) were ruled out already on Friday. The same is true for linebacker Quay Walker (ankle) and offensive tackle Andre Dillard (concussion).
Late Saturday night, wide receiver Romeo Doubs was also added to the injury report with an illness and listed as questionable. Christian Watson (knee) and defensive end Brenton Cox (foot) also were listed as questionable when the final injury report on Friday.
Moments ago, the Packers announced their game availability for those players designated as questionable.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Christian Watson Will Play vs the Chicago Bears
Per the Packers website, Watson will play on Sunday against the Bears after missing Green Bay’s previous game, a 27-25 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Watson got hurt in the Packers 34-0 Week 16 win over the New Orleans Saints when a defender fell on his knee. Fortunately, he only suffered a bruise and not a more significant injury.
Green Bay certainly missed his speed and downfield capabilities in their loss to the Vikings. Having him back, regardless of how much he’ll play on Sunday, will help the offense tremendously.
Watson has 29 receptions for 620 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Is Inactive vs the Chicago Bears
Unfortunately, it appears that whatever Doubs came down with last night is going to impede his ability to play against the Bears. He, along with five others, have been ruled out for the game.
In addition to the players already listed as out on the injury report, Cox will not play in the final regular season game.
This will be the fourth game that Doubs has missed this season (three from injury/illness, one due to a suspension).
He has 46 receptions for 601 yards and four touchdowns this season.
