One of the bigger stories in the Green Bay Packers’ offseason is the transition of Bo Melton from a wide receiver into a cornerback. That is a 360 turn going from offense to defense.

The team and Melton himself tried to be discreet about the change with the latter saying back in June that he is not going to be a full-time CB.
One month, a number of drills and practices have past and it looks like him becoming a cornerback is something that fits like a glove. Even him is surprised that he is capable of holding the forth in that role.
“I definitely wasn’t expecting to make tons of plays. I ain’t made a million of them, but I’ve made some plays,” the 26-year-old player told reporters after practice on Thursday.

“I was like, ‘OK,’ so I did surprise myself with the skills I brought to the table, I would say. It definitely was fun, just getting out there with the boys.”

Bo Melton looking forward to game vs New York Jets
Packers reporter Rob Demovsky provided a preview of the last practice Melton played CB and fans have so much to look forward to.
In Thursday’s final full practice before the game, Melton took some snaps with the No. 1 defense, which could mean extensive playing time on Saturday. Starting cornerbacks Nate Hobbs (knee) and Keisean Nixon (rest) did not practice Thursday.
Melton himself feels great about his skills at CB and he is now excited to make their first pre-season game where he can show off all of them.

“I’m hyped now. I ain’t going to lie,” he said. “I’m ready to see, go against somebody else. We’ve been going against the same people every week, so I’m just excited to go out there and compete with somebody else.”
Packers will face the New York Jets on Saturday for their first pre-season game with official line up yet to be confirmed.
