It has gone down as one of the greatest taunts in history. Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers rushed for a touchdown against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field with 4:30 remaining in the fourth quarter of the game played on October 17, 2021. In the midst of boos and one-fingered salutes, Rodgers screamed to the crowd, “I still own you! All my life I own you!”

The touchdown Rodgers scored put the Packers up 24-14, effectively icing the game for Green Bay. It has gone down in Packers lore as one of the high-points of the fabled rivalry with the Bears.
When Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, fans in Chicago rejoiced. Finally, they believed, they would take the upper hand in the rivalry. Bears fans spent months trashing the Packers, Jordan Love, and Packers fans.
And these taunts made the 38-20 smackdown that Love and the Packers laid on the Bears in Week One all the more sweet for Packers fans.
As it turns out, Rodgers was watching that game, too, and sent a hilarious text message to Love regarding his performance.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Told to “Keep the Ownership in Place”
Unfortunately, Rodgers is out for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season after tearing his Achilles four snaps into his Jets tenure. Prior to New York’s first game, though, he was enjoying watching his old team beat up on his long-time nemeses in Chicago (the Jets did not play until Monday night, the day after the Packers).
During his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show today, Rodgers was asked if he talked to Love at all about his Week One performance against Chicago (245 passing yards, three touchdown passes, no interceptions). Rodgers responded:
Aaron Rodgers says on @PatMcAfeeShow that he texted Jordan Love after the Week 1 win over the #Bears:

“I’ve been texting the guys. I did send J a text after the Bears game. Well, after they pulled away because I wanted him to see it when he got back his phone. ‘Congratulations on keeping the ownership in place.’ That was pretty awesome for him.”
Since 1992, the Packers have a 47-15 record against the Bears.
Brett Favre Started the 30-Year Trend of Owning the Chicago Bears
Brett Favre played 32 games against the Bears during his tenure as the starting quarterback of the Packers. He went 22-10 in those games with a passer rating of 84.9, 7,660 passing yards, 53 touchdowns, and 38 interceptions.
Perhaps the most memorable of these games was a 35-28 shootout that the Packers won on November 17, 1995. In that contest, Favre threw for 336 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions. His touchdown passes were caught by Dorsey Levens, Edgar Bennett (two), and Robert Brooks (two).
The Green Bay Packers Dominated the Chicago Bears with Aaron Rodgers
As good as Favre was against the Bears, Rodgers was even better. He currently holds a 24-5 record against Chicago with a 109.0 passer rating, 6,965 passing yards, 64 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
His 2014 stats against Chicago are something out of a Madden video game. That season, in two games, Rodgers threw for 617 yards, 10 touchdowns, and no interceptions against them. In the second of these games, Green Bay jumped out to a 42-0 halftime lead behind six Rodgers touchdown passes. He did not play for the rest of the game, and the Packers ended up winning 55-14.
If the Jets and Bears finish in the same position within their respective divisions, they will play each other next season. This would give Chicago the opportunity to be beaten by both Love and Rodgers in the same season.
