New York Jets was Aaron Rodgers second team after the Green Bay Packers and comparing his stint between the two, there’s a stark difference.

The current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback spent just two seasons with the Jets but expectations were high because of his legendary stint with the Packers for 18 years. This includes one Super Bowl, one Super Bowl MVP, four season MVP awards, and 10 Pro Bowl honors.
His time with the Jets is a forgettable one. He got injured in his first game with them and never played a game at all in 2023. He played all games in 2024 but they failed to make the playoffs.
Rodgers regrets that his time in New York did not pan out the way many expected but he insisted that he gave everything for the franchise.
“I really wanted to win there, I really did,” he said.
“And I have a lot of appreciation for the special moments. There weren’t a ton of them, but one of the coolest moments, unfortunately, four plays later was all taken away, but running out on that field, it was a special night. Even though it ended very shortly after, it will always be kind of a special snapshot.”

He is both sorry and thankful to the Jets.
“I put a lot into it and I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but I’m thankful for the couple special moments that were had.”
Aaron Rodgers has message to Green Bay Packers as well
Rodgers will meet the Jets on Week 1 but that’s not the only highly-anticipated reunion concerning him.
He is set to face the Packers for the first time on Week 8 (October 26), a match up many believe will be one of the most watched this season.
Rodgers does not want to put that game in a microscope and is focused on beating them.
“It is just another game,” he said.
“Obviously, there’s energy around it kind of outside of yourself but it doesn’t make or break your career. It’ll be fun to beat them, for sure, because I would’ve beaten every team, and because you’re trying to win all your games. Either way, it’ll be good to see so many people.”

He added that he is excited to meet his former colleagues.
“Some of the people I’m most excited to see, honestly, are the guys who were with me all 18 years – mostly training room guys, equipment staff guys. It’ll be fun to see some of those guys. That’ll be exciting.”
