The Orlando Magic pushed the Milwaukee Bucks to the limit on Friday and good thing for coach Doc Rivers, Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo bailed them out.
The superstar duo connived to wheel their team to nail-biting victory over their hosts in the last two minutes, including a two-man game that led to a lay-up by Giannis in the 1:50 mark that stretched their lead to five points.
The Magic still managed to threaten led by Paolo Banchero and almost got the victory with 10 seconds remaining but the Bucks sees that play between Lillard and Antetokounmpo an effective strategy.
Some pick-and-roll may not have led to a field goal but Antetokounmpo still managed to get to the free throw line although he missed, a different problem altogether.
Giannis Antetokounmpo warns they will run the same play all throughout
Lillard’s two-man game with the two-time MVP has been receiving praise. It is not just in clutch time.
The duo have learned to look for each other throughout the game as they navigate a long-season.
That play against Magic validated that and so, they will run that play over and over again according to Antetokounmpo.
We know each other’s spots. We know how to play with one another. We know what one another wants to accomplish while they have the ball or when they’re playing off the ball and it’s something that we do. There’s going to be a lot of times you’re going to see this game, the next 45 games that we’re going to play, plus playoffs, it’s going to be a lot of times that it’s just going to be a two-man game. It has to be that way, especially in the last five minutes.
