Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is really going through it with the New York Jets this season. He is currently having the worst statistical season of his professional career with a 63.4% completion percentage (career-low), 2,442 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, seven interceptions, and an 88.9 passer rating (career-low).

Not only is Rodgers struggling individually, the Jets are struggling as a team. They are now 3-8 following their 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts over the weekend. They fell to just 1-5 since firing head coach Robert Saleh, who has since joined the Packers as an advisor on Matt LaFleur‘s coaching staff.
On Tuesday, it was also announced that New York had fired general manager Joe Douglas, who had negotiated the Rodgers traded back in the early days of 2023. Before that happened, though, he added another former Packers player to the Jets’ 53-man roster.
Former Green Bay Packers Kicker Anders Carlson Has Been Signed to the New York Jets’ 53-Man Roster
Before Douglas was fired, he made the decision to sign former Packers kicker Anders Carlson from New York’s practice squad to their 53-man roster:

With kicking troubles seemingly abundant throughout the NFL, this move ensured that no other team would be able to steal Carlson from the Jets. After placing Greg Zuerlein on injured reserve, the Jets lost Spencer Shrader to the Kansas City Chiefs because he was not on New York’s 53-man roster.
While Packers fans do not have many fond memories of the former sixth-round pick, Carlson was 2/2 on his field goal attempts against the Colts, including a career-long 58-yarder. He also made all three of his extra point attempts.
Prior to signing with the Jets, Carlson appeared in two games for the San Francisco 49ers while Jake Moody and Matthew Wright were injured. He made all five of his field goal attempts for the 49ers (including a 55-yarder) and three of his four extra point attempts.
The longest field goal Carlson made while in Green Bay was a 53-yarder.
On the season, the Auburn product has a 100% field goal percentage and an 85.7% extra point percentage.
