The Philadelphia Eagles may have won against the Green Bay Packers in a neutral ground back in Week 1 but coach Nick Sirianni does not see it as a barometer for their upcoming playoff match.
The Packers and Eagles found themselves locked in the wildcard round of the NFL 2024-25 season playoffs as no. 7 and no. 2 seeds, respectively.
Sirianni find the Packers as a familiar foe with their Week 1 encounter in Brazil. However, he does not think it will be a walk in the park for them as he believes the two teams are much different from the time they first met in September.
“Both teams are different from that day until now, no doubt,” Nick Sirianni told reporters.
“We’ll use that (tape of that game). You use everything. That’s something that when we go play a team that we played the previous year, we’ll use that, too. That’s from year to year. So of course we’ll use that. They’ll use that. We understand that.”
The 2022 NFL Coach of the Year also praised his counterpart Matt LaFleur for leading his team to the playoffs.
“It’s a really good team. Really well coached.”
Jalen Hurts’ status vs Green Bay Packers
It will totally be a different game if the Eagles don’t have their superstar Jalen Hurts by January 13.
The Packers are not the only ones hurting as their playoff opponents might be crippled by kick off.
Hurt entered the concussion protocol two weeks after getting hurt in loss to the Washington Commanders. He missed two games after that.
Will he be able to return? If the Eagles’ latest roster activity is to be followed, there is possibility that the star quarterback will be able to play.
John Clark of NBC Sports reported that the Eagles decided to waive Ian Book who was signed as an emergency QB when Hurts went down.
However, to be released from the concussion protocol, he needs to join first team practice, which will take place on Wednesday.
