A new report details the injury New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr sustained in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Saints were up 17-0 in the second half when Carr sustained what looked to be a painful injury after a hit by Packers linebacker Rashan Gary.
Fox television cameras showed Carr on the ground in pain. He walked off the field with staff to receive X-rays. Jameis Winston came in to relieve Carr. Winston could not hold onto the lead as the Packers would come back to win 18-17.
New Orleans Saints have mixed news on Derek Carr
According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, the Saints have mixed news on Carr’s injury. The Saints believe Carr has an AC sprain. The good news is the injury is less severe (season-ending) than the Saints that it was when they ruled him out in the second half.
The bad news is that Carr might have to miss some games.

The Green Bay Packers showed the problem with Carr’s injury
The Saints have to be concerned that Carr will miss any time after the offensive performance when he had to leave the game. The Saints were unable to consistently move the ball and bleed the clock to notch a 3-0 record to start the season.
The Saints will have to hope Carr can be ready to go in a game or two, or the team’s playoff hopes could be in jeopardy due to the injury.
