On Tuesday, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell revealed a positive update on two starters ahead of his team’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4. The Lions and Packers will play on Thursday night, so both teams have a short turnaround for injuries this week.
The winner of Thursday’s game will take an early lead in the NFC North. The Packers and Lions have had good starts to the year despite dealing with many injuries. The Lions could have two key players back on offense against the Packers.
Detroit Lions feel good about 2 players before Green Bay Packers game
According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, Campbell said he’s feeling “pretty good about” the chance running back David Montgomery and left tackle Taylor Decker would be able to play against the Packers.

Montgomery said earlier this week he wants play Thursday for one incentive: He’s never beaten the Green Bay Packers. The Packers always beat the Chicago Bears when he was in Chicago.
The Lions offense would be more effective with Montgomery back. He’s a physical runner who will help rookie Jahmyr Gibbs be complementary in the passing attack. Montgomery can also pass block.
That’s somthing the Lions want Dekcer to do. Jared Goff should have an easier time in the passing game with Decker and Montgomery back.
