When the Minnesota Vikings started the 2024 season, not many people had high expectations for Sam Darnold and the rest of the team. Many people had Minnesota finishing in fourth place in the NFC North because of the quarterback situation.
Once again, Sam Darnold had a masterful performance against the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings defeated the Packers 27-25 and are now 14-2 on the year and the Packers dropped to 11-5.
Minnesota Vikings Quarterback Sam Darnold Throws For Almost 400 Yards Against the Green Bay Packers
On Sunday, Darnold completed 33-of-43 passes for 377 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Nailor in the second quarter, an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Addison, and a 9-yard touchdown pass to Cam Akers in the third quarter.
Justin Jefferson led the way for Minnesota in receiving with eight receptions for 92 yards receiving and zero touchdowns. Jalen Nailor caught five passes for 81 yards receiving and a touchdown. Jordan Addison also caught six passes for 69 yards receiving and a touchdown.
The Vikings have one of the most talented offenses in the entire NFL. T.J. Hockenson also caught five passes for 68 yards receiving and zero touchdowns for Minnesota. Sam Darnold has made this offense into an offense that has been elite this season. He has completed 68.1% of his passes for 4,153 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions this season.

The biggest challenge for Minnesota Vikings and Sam Darnold at this point will be trying to get the number one seed in the NFC and win the NFC North Division. The Detroit Lions stand in Minnesota’s way of that goal. As for the Green Bay Packers. they will most likely be the seventh seed in the NFC Playoffs unless they win against the Chicago Bears next week and the Washington Commanders lose to the Dallas Cowboys.
