In his first year of eligibility for Cooperstown, former Milwaukee Brewers pitcher CC Sabathia got enough votes to become part of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame class. Sabathia garnered 86.8 percent of the votes, with only former Seattle Mariners star Ichiro Suzuki having a higher vote percentage in the class. (Suzuki was a near-unanimous first-ballot Hall of Famer with a vote rate of 99.7%).
Many expected Sabathia to get into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2025, which also explains why he was in the company of a lot of friends and family on Tuesday, in anticipation of the voting result. Major League Baseball even shared a video of the moment Sabathia got the call informing him that his seat has finally been booked in Cooperstown.

Sabathia gets his place in Baseball Hall of Fame
Sabathia was easily one of the best pitchers during his time in the big leagues, and with his Baseball Hall of Fame selection, it can be officially said that he’s truly among the greatest of all time.
In an MLB career that stretched from 2001 to 2019, Sabathia suited up for the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees. Over that near-two-decade span, Sabathia earned six All-Star nods, won an American League Cy Young Award, won a World Series and led the big leagues in wins twice.
In 561 appearances on the mound, Sabathia collected a 251-161 record and 3.74 ERA.
