The Orlando Magic may not have a number of their key players but they still got Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo worried because of one thing.
For the Greek Freak, he has to approach match-ups with the young Magic with a different mindset because of their physicality and no-surrender type of mentality.
The Bucks barely won against their hosts on Friday, 109-106, with Antetokounmpo having his best game since their NBA Cup victory. The Greek Freak scored 41 points and hauled 14 rebounds. He also had four assists, three steals, and two blocks.
The Magic was in the game the whole night and even almost pulled of the victory if only Paolo Banchero sank both free throws in the last 10 seconds to tie the game.
It was Banchero’s first game back after missing 34 games. He impressively scored 34 points for his team on 5 out of 3-point shooting.
The team still does not have brothers Franz and Mo Wagner, starting forward Jalen Suggs, and veteran Gary Harris.
Giannis Antetokounmpo says no rest til final buzzer vs Magic
It looks like Antetokounmpo is aware of what Magic is going through and doing in the league.
Talking to reporters post-game, the two-time MVP revealed that he knows about Jamal Mosley’s team’s comeback games.
That is the reason why he never thought the game is over until the last second. He is correct.
“They’ve had the most comeback wins in the NBA. Recently they cameback down 22 with 6 minutes left or something crazy. You know when you come to the game you gotta play 48 minutes,” he said.
Magic had two 20-point comeback games within 48 hours in December. First one was against the Miami Heat when they were down 25 points in the fourth.
The second was against the Brooklyn Nets when they were down 21 in the third quarter.
