Who has the best nickname in the Milwaukee Bucks? Is it the Greek Freak? Dame Time? AJ Green might have something to say.
The Bucks’ reliable three-point shooter has received a new monicker and it is something that his wife approves.
He is now being called the Dairy Bird, which is of course a play on legendary Larry Bird who also happens to be a white player and is also great from beyond the arc.
“BP loves it. My wife loves it. So I like that.”

“I love the fact that other people love it BP loves it. My wife loves it. So I like that,” he told reporters were informed about fans waving banners with his nickname on it.
His previous nickname was AJ Automatic given by announcer Lisa Byington.
Looks like it is Dairy Bird that is going to stay as fans on the internet love it more.
“Dairy Bird clears AJ Automatic by a billion,” said one user.
“It is sincerely my favorite nickname a buck has had in a while,” wrote another in quote post on X.
Green has been one of the more reliable bench player for the Bucks this season, especially during first three weeks when they can’t get a win.
In the win against the Washington Wizards, he shot three out of six from the 3-point line and finished with 13 points.
He is averaging 8.2 points per game in 20 minutes. He played just 11 minutes per night last season.
AJ Green earned that monicker
Green became a beloved player in Wisonsin last season because of his sweet shooting.
He started his NBA career as an undrafted player in 2022 and worked his way up. This is why it is easy to say that he earned the monicker and the love of the fans.
“Really grateful for it. The fans are a blessing. Sports is amazing sometimes. It’s just crazy,” he said to reporters when told about how he earned his nickname.
Even veteran and superstar teammate Damian Lillard is noticing his rise and hardwork.
If you watch AJ pre-game, if you watch him before practice, he’s spinning the ball out to himself, running full speed catching it and raising up quick with his momentum, off the dribble, off the catch, spinning out, curling out, every spot on the floor. I literally sit in the chair on the sideline before practice and watch him do it every day.
Numbers don’t like for Green.
He is currently the league’s 7th best 3-point shooter percentage wise at 47.8 percent. His numbers are better than that of Kyrie Irving and Buddy Hield.
It will not be far-fetched if he gets invited to the All-Star Weekend.
