The Milwaukee Brewers chose Tyler Alexander as the starting rotation replacement for the injured Aaron Civale and boy did he deliver. Alexander not only covered more than what was being asked of him, but he didn’t allow a hit during the outing. This strong performance was key as the Brew Crew went on to win their fourth straight game.
Tyler Alexander was stellar in his Brewers home debut

After making two appearances out of the bullpen on the road, a rested Alexander got the start for Milwaukee on Friday against the Reds. Manager Pat Murphy was hoping for four to five solid innings from Alexander, and he came through with 5.2 no-hit innings where he also struck out six batters.
Following Alexander was Abner Uribe. Uribe kept the no-hitter intact until there were two outs in the seventh inning. Wisconsin native Gavin Lux broke up the combined no-no with a sharp single to center field.
The Brewers pitching staff managed to keep the Reds off the board until the eighth inning. Bryan Hudson got himself into some trouble, turned the ball over to Joel Payamps, in which the two inherited runners then went on to score.
Prior to the Reds scoring a pair of runs in the eighth inning, they had been held without a run for 35 consecutive innings. Trevor Megill got the save for Milwaukee in this game, his first of the season.
Milwaukee Brewers became the 13th team in MLB history with this accomplishment

With Friday night’s 3-2 victory over the Reds, where the offense was provided by a Garrett Mitchell RBI single and a Brice Turang two run homer, the Brewers won their fourth straight game. They began the year on a four game losing streak and now are just the 13th team in MLB history to have started 0-4 and improve to 4-4.
The Brewers will look to make it five straight on Saturday night with another show down against the Reds. 6:10 PM is the start time for this contest. Brad Singer is the projected starting pitcher for Cincinnati and Elvin Rodriguez for Milwaukee.
