Pat Murphy has been with the Milwaukee Brewers since 2015 but he only became their manager in 2023 when they have to part ways with Craig Counsell who’s now with rival club Chicago Cubs.

The team found relative success in his first season with the team as they reached the Wildcard Series despite the major changes that happened within the team.
For his leadership, he was awarded the National League Manager of the Year.
The award was given to him for his brilliance in leading the Brewers back to baseball glory but he refuses to take all the credit. He said he was only able to manage a team well because of the players’ desire to prove themselves.

“I’m not sure it was me that set the tone,” Murphy via MLB Network.
“We had just a great group. You know, it was young energy, hungry players. Hungry players make managers look good so I think that’s what happened…What I’m most proud of is the way they competed (for 162 games). I was drained and I learned I think that you’ve got to be a little more even-keeled.”
Milwaukee Brewers fans love Pat Murphy
Murphy has established himself as a beloved figure in Wisconsin not only because of his first season as the manager but also first his stint as their bench coach.
Some even easily forgot about Counsell.
He is tied with the team only until 2206 and fans are already campaigning to get his contract extended.

The Brewers come to the new season with a renewed spirit despite the injury to key players like Christian Yelich and Brandon Woodruff.
The hungry players he talked about are expected to remain hungry after their strong finish to the 2024 season. Among those expected to reach greater heights are William Contreras and Jackson Chouriou.
