Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio officially purchased the team in 2005. Since being involved, the franchise has won five National League Central division titles and made the playoffs eight times. His tenure hasn’t come without scrutiny as finances/payroll have been a topic of discussion on numerous occasions.
Outside of the Brewers, Attanasio has been involved in other projects around baseball. More recently he was the head of the committee that helped the Athletics relocate. Now, some steam is being picked up towards him potentially becoming commissioner Rob Manfred’s successor.
MLB owners reportedly in support of Milwaukee Brewers owner Mark Attanasio to succeed Rob Manfred

In Bob Nightengale’s recent column, he brought attention to Attanasio by indicating that several owners will be pushing for him to succeed Manfred as commissioner in 2029. Attanasio has been linked to this position before, but not without reports of several owners backing him up.
“There is no clear-cut favorite to become MLB commissioner after Rob Manfred retires in Jan. 2029, but several owners say they plan to push for owner Mark Attanasio of the Milwaukee Brewers to be his successor.”
Mark Attanasio could follow Bud Selig’s footsteps

Before Attanasio was the owner of the Brewers, the Selig family owned the franchise. Bud Selig was the man responsible for bringing baseball back to Milwaukee as he purchased the Seattle Pilots and then moved them to Wisconsin for the 1970 season Selig eventually went on to become the acting MLB commissioner in 1992 and held that role until 2015.
It certainly would be interesting to see another Brewers owner become MLB commissioner. Attanasio appears to have the support of numerous owners, but the players union may be hesitant given his track record of managing players contracts/finances.
