Milwaukee native Andrew Rohde left for three years but he is back and will now represent home state team Wisconsin Badgers for 2025.

Rohde entered the transfer portal and the Badgers were right on his case to make sure his talent will not serve another community.
The 6’6 guard, who hails from Brookfield, joined the St. Thomas Minnesota Tommies in his freshman year before transferring to University of Virginia Cavaliers for the last two seasons.
He now hopes to help the Badgers in the next NCAA season. Not only that, he is excited to play in front of the Wisconsin community.a
“Playing for Wisconsin means a lot to me,” Rohde said in a statement after the confirmation of his commitment to UW.

“Getting the chance to compete at a high level in front of my family, for a program I’ve always admired, is something I’m truly thankful for. I’m ecstatic to be a part of Badger nation and can’t wait to get on the court in front of one of the best atmospheres in college basketball.”
Wisconsin Badgers got a well-rounded player?
Rohde may have recorded just 9.3 points per game in his last season with the Cavaliers but his experience in college is more than enough for him to earn the admiration of head coach Greg Gard.
Those nine points are almost half of his total production in his first year in college. He struggled in first season with Virginia but managed to double his productions and minutes last season.
Gard believes he received a Rohde that is already well-rounded on both ends of the floor.

“Great opportunity for him to play close to home and our fans will love cheering for him. He’s had a chance to play at different levels, showing off his offensive ability starting at St. Thomas and then earning his defensive degree at Virginia we respect so much,” he said via Badgers Blitz.
“Now he gets to put those together at a Wisconsin program that he’s been familiar with since he was a little kid. He’s a big guard that has played in a lot of big games and we’re excited to have him back home for his senior season.”
