It seems that Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets are about to part ways in the 2025 offseason. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, the future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback traveled to New Jersey last week for a meeting with Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey, who are the Jets’ new head coach and general manager respectively. However, Rodgers was also reportedly told that the Jets are moving on from him.
Despite the latest news about the 41-year-old quarterback’s fate with the Jets, known New York fan Adam Sandler said on Monday before Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans that he is expecting the AFC East division team to be playing for the big game in 2026.
“My name is Adam Sandler. I am here at the Super Bowl. They’re being very nice to me, so far. It’s going to be a good one. I plan on enjoying it like you the people at home or anyone watching this.

Who will the Jets choose to succeed Aaron Rodgers as the team’s QB1?

That is quite a declaration from Sandler, who starred in football movies like “The Longest Yard” and “The Waterboy.” For one, if the Jets are to reach the Super Bowl in 2026, they surely would need a competent quarterback now that they have seemingly decided on Rodgers’ future with the team.
To that end, the Jets could be looking at getting a top-tier QB prospect in the 2025 NFL draft, where they will be picking seventh overall in the first round after finishing with just a 5-12 record in the 2024 campaign.
