The New York Jets recently introduced a new head coach and a new general manager in Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey, respectively. But Aaron Rodgers is still their No. 1 quarterback at the moment.
The future Pro Football Hall of Fame signal-caller is a big topic in the Jets’ realm, as there is no certainty about his future with the team – or in the NFL. Rodgers could very well have played his final game in the NFL, as a retirement could be an option for him. If he’s not retiring, will the Jets decide to keep him and be their starting quarterback in the 2025 campaign?
That’s one of the items the Jets will have to deal with in the offseason. As much noise there is about Rodgers, Glenn let everyone know that Rodgers ‘status is not the only thing New York will be addressing in the offseason.
“This thing is not about Aaron Rodgers. This is about the roster,” Glenn told reporters (h/t Jets Videos).

Glenn turns heads with Aaron Rodgers comment
That strong message from Glenn drew the attention of fans online, with many applauding the new Jets head coach’s firmness amid the Aaron Rodgers situation.
“Finally a coach that isn’t afraid of Rodgers. A new QB will bring life to this franchise”
“Jets got themselves a real one”
“A coach that’s not taking no [expletive]”
“Genuinely feeling good about this he actually cares about the whole package and won’t put anyone over the whole roster”
“He’s going to handle the NY media very well”
“Yo, this ain’t ’bout Rodgers, it’s ’bout the roster, yo!”
“Aaron Rodgers is on the roster but get what he is saying every player and personnel is what his process is.”
Glenn can further impress the Jets if he leads the team back to the NFL playoffs, which New York hasn’t been to since the 2010 campaign’s postseason.
