The Aaron Rodgers experience for the New York Jets hasn’t exactly been a memorable one. After Rodgers’ full healthy season with the Jets, the team’s future remains uncertain.
But things could be changing for the better for the AFC East division franchise, with a new head coach-general manager combo in town. The Jets have recently hired Aaron Glenn as their new head coach and Darren Mougey as their new general manager. Together, Glenn and Mougey will look to find ways to turn things around for New York, which hasn’t been to the NFL playoffs in over a decade.
Aaron Glenn speaks up about Aaron Rodgers

One of the first challenges for the Jets under the Glenn-Mougey regime is Aaron Rodgers’ situation. Glenn touched on the subject when asked about it recently.
Via Zack Rosenblatt and RJ Kraft of The Athletic:
Glenn was asked about the process surrounding a decision on Rodgers and he said there was no timetable, but that getting the right answer was paramount.
“Me and Mougey are going to sit and talk and go over the whole roster,” Glenn said. “I will tell you now that is going to be the answer to a number of questions when it comes to the roster in general. We are looking forward to that process. I can’t tell you how long that process will be but the thing is we are going to make sure we get the right answer and we are not going to rush to this answer because we are going to the right answer.”
Rodger signed a restructured three-year extension contract with the Jets in 2023 that’s worth $112.5 million. The Jets could cut or trade Rodgers but that will result in heavy dead cap damage for New York, which won just five games in the 2024 season. Of course, there is also the possibility that Rodgers may have already played his last game in the NFL with retirement an option for the future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
