Marquette Golden Eagles had an interesting visitor on Wednesday as three-star high school prospect Alexander Egbuonu paid them a visit.
Egbuonu, who plays small forward and eligible for college by 2026, appeared to have enjoyed the visit to the Wisconsin team who are currently the leaders in Big East with a 14-2 record.
The Lawrence Academy standout even provided hint what kind of time he had with the Golden Eagles.
First, X account Recruit Zone, dedicated to providing updates on the best basketball recruits, announced that made an “unofficial” visit to Marquette. The post dubbed him as a Top 70 prospect for next year.
Egbuonu was quick to clarify the post saying it is an official visit, accompanied by a praying emoji.
He also posted himself on X on Tuesday wearing the Marquette Golden Eagles jersey.

Will he be a good future Marquette Golden Eagles?
Top 70 might be too high for a threshold but Egbuono has the potential.
Just recently, he was named the MVP of Zero Gravity Basketball and scouts rave about his huge frame and finesse on the offense down low.
Pro Insight wrote about him:
With 26 1H points vs. Cheshire, the junior continued to build on his recent momentum after being named MVP at #ZGPC earlier this month. Despite a close loss, he converted on difficult shots, tracked down 50-50 balls and made several impressive defensive plays both on and off the ball. The talented wing recently picked up offers from Boston College, Penn State and Arizona State
He is also aware about the knock on his game but he is dedicated to improve.
In an interview with DThayer Hoops, he said that he is trying to hone his outside shooting.
“In this era of basketball, I have heard the phrase ‘If you can’t shoot, you can’t play’ and that is why I am working on keeping everything consistent. Once I can learn how to use my broad shoulders and naturally strong frame to my advantage, I will be a match up nightmare.”
