Chase Geter already has at least 22 college programs offering him athletic scholarship but did not stop the Wisconsin Badgers from taking their shot.
“I was pretty shocked,” Geter told BadgerBlitz.com when asked about the unexpected offer from Wisconsin.
“They came into my school, I had a workout. They watched my workout. (Safeties coach Jack Cooper) left, and then he called me the next day (with an offer).”
Geter, a member of Class of 2026, plays cornerback and is one of the most coveted players from high school.
Among the schools that already talked to him are the Charlotte 49ers which made the earlier offer in March of last year. There is also the NC State Wolfpack, Michigan State Spartans, Syracuse Orange, and North Carolina Tar Heels.
Geter is a 3-star prospect and ranked by 247 Sports at 649 nationally.
Badgers are leaving no stones unturned in preparation for the 2025 season. Head coach Luke Fickell personally visited four-star prospect wide receiver Brock Boyd who like Geter was shocked by the gesture.
“It means a lot. I’d say it is uncommon to have a head coach make the trip to your school, especially that far away. I think it speaks volume,” he said as quoted by 247 Sports.
Wisconsin Badgers among the options of 6’4 TE
Badgers’ recruitment is gaining ground with a notable prospect considering them among his options.
Class of 2026 tight end target Landen Miree, who hails from Princeton High School where he also plays basketball, listed the Badgers among the college football programs he is looking into.
