Brock Boyd has already committed himself to the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs football team but that does not stop Wisconsin Badgers coach Luke Fickell from making moves.
It ain’t over till until it is over, as they say. And Badgers are ramping up their hunt for the best talent.
Boyd is a three-star prospect playing as wide receiver from the Southlake Carrolll. He will become college eligible by 2026.
His current WR rating is 87.
Fickell, who is entering his third season with the Badgers, probably thought that he should give recruiting Boyd to Madison a try as he personally visited the player to offer scholarship.
What does Boyd feel about someone like Fickell going through the extra miles to recruit him? The young man feels elated.
“It means a lot. I’d say it is uncommon to have a head coach make the trip to your school, especially that far away. I think it speaks volume,” he said as quoted by 247 Sports.
He also called his conversation with Fickell “great.”
#AGTG After a great conversation with @CoachFick i’m very blessed to say i’ve received an offer from @BadgerFootball @CoachBlaz @CoachReid_ @coachrdodge @SLC_Recruiting @CoachL_OBrien @drobalwayzopen pic.twitter.com/z0XPXE2Li1

Wisconsin Badgers’ competition on Brock Boyd
The problem here is the Badgers are kind of late in the recruitment of the coveted wide receiver.
He already received offer from 10 other teams, including Houston Cougars, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Oklahoma Sooners.
He also received offer from Vanderbilt Commodores, UTSA Roadrunners and Texas Tech where his older brother is playing.
Ahead of everyone though is TCU Horned Frogs with whom he already expressed commitment.
He posted about his commitment to TCU on July of 2024 on X.
Boyd is expected to develop even better in the coming season with many of his seniors already leaving for college.
In his sophomore year, he made seven touchdowns.
