The fourth ranked Wisconsin Volleyball team swept number 12 Minnesota to advance to their third straight Final Four. The Badgers won 25-18, 26-24, and 25-22 Saturday night at the UW Field House in Madison. Wisconsin has yet to drop a set in the tournament.
Dana Rettke led the Badgers with 15 kills and four blocks, while hitting .520 on the night. Devin Robinson added 11 kills and six blocks.
The win eliminates Minnesota from the tournament and ends Stephanie Samedy’s outstanding collegiate career. Samedy finished the night with 12 kills and seven digs. The Golden Gophers were led by Airi Miyabe with 13 kills.
Wisconsin will head to Columbus, Ohio to play top seeded Louisville on Thursday night at 6 p.m. in the National Semifinal match. The Cardinals advanced to their first ever Final Four earlier this evening.
The Badgers will have their work cut out for them if they hope to advance to the Finals. Louisville is a perfect 32-0 on the year. The Cardinals are the winners of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), while Wisconsin won their third-straight Big Ten title earlier this season.
