Keeanu Benton was a force in the middle of the defensive line for the Wisconsin Badgers. Now, he is going to create some havoc in the NFL. Benton was selected in the second round by perennial AFC contender, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Keeanu Benton Selected By The Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers took him 49th overall. The 6-foot-4 309-pound defensive tackle joins a defense with a lot of talent. He joins fellow Wisconsin Badger T.J. Watt who should open up many opportunities for Benton. During the Senior Bowl, Benton started turning heads. He followed it up with a good pro day and was set to be a second-round pick. He joins one of the best organizations in football that have not had a losing season under head coach Mike Tomlin.

Other Badgers Getting Drafted?
The only other Badger that is projecting high is linebacker Nick Herbig. Linebackers often do not get taken in the higher rounds. However, this draft has seen many teams reach to get the player that they want. It would not shock me if Herbig goes at any point. This year we will probably not see many Badgers drafted but that is likely to change in the coming years. With Luke Fickell and his staff bringing in lots of talent, there will most likely be more NFL talent coming out of Madison.
I love the fit of Keeanu Benton and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Often, the success of a prospect is dependent on where they end up and Benton is with one of the best organizations in football.
