The Wisconsin football staff is set to have one of the top additions to the recruiting board on campus for an official visit this weekend.
Zion Legree, a 2026 three-star wide receiver, will be making an official visit this weekend in Madison for his first visit. Legree was added to the Wisconsin Badgers recruiting board just last month and locked the recruit into a campus visit after a major announcement.
The former wide receiver decommitted from the Ole Miss Rebels last month after being one of the longest standing commitments in the class for the Rebels. Wisconsin felt a similar loss as Carmelow Reed flipped his commitment to Ole Miss during an official visit with the program. Now, the Wisconsin football staff hopes to land Legree and complete the recruit swap during his crucial official visit.

Legree has never been to Wisconsin before and will be taking his first visit with the school during his official visit this weekend. The recruit will also make a pitstop at the Ohio State University before visiting Wisconsin, which is a very recent development in the recruitment of Legree. Despite Ohio State making a push, the visit is likely just a stop along the way rather than a potential new landing spot.
Legree has a deep history with the Wisconsin football program, but not due to a connection with any staff members. Rather, Legree is a former 7-on-7 teammate of current Badgers quarterback Danny O’Neil and the familiarity has been key in his recruitment.
What Could Zion Legree Add to the Wisconsin Football Offense?

While Legree is not guaranteed to land with Wisconsin nor is there a real leader in his recruitment, the possible fit within the Badgers offense seems clear.
Legree is a physically gifted wide receiver with a 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound frame and an exciting burst of speed. The wide receiver is quite literally a student of the game and has studied routes and opposing coverages to develop into one of the more intelligent receivers in the class. Legree seems to always be in the right spot and the receiver consistently finds open space, which is something that would benefit any offense.
For the Wisconsin football staff, the offense is once again enduring an identity change but one that should bring the program back to what the offense once was. Adding a receiver like Legree who can learn quickly and adapt to the system he will be playing in is something that Wisconsin is not taking for granted. The four-star recruit would provide an immediate boost in the receiving room.
