The Wisconsin football staff added a tough out of conference game to their schedule this season and have used it to draw in visits.
Zachary Washington, a three-star receiver from Illinois, recently took a visit and met with the Wisconsin football staff during their on-campus recruiting event. Washington loved his recent visit, and was quick to book a second visit for this upcoming season during the Alabama Crimson Tide game. Alabama poses a threat no matter where they are playing, and Wisconsin will have plenty of recruits in the stands watching when the Crimson Tide visits Madison.
Wisconsin Football Secures Visit During Crimson Tide Game With Three-Star Zachary Washington
During a recent visit and meet-up with the Wisconsin football staff, three-star Illinois native receiver Zachary Washington booked another visit for this upcoming season. Washington is one of many Wisconsin prospects who will be attending the upcoming game against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Madison on week three.
Wisconsin has plenty of in-conference spectacles coming up this season, but the intriguing out-of-conference match-up against Alabama has become a game to watch. The Wisconsin football team and staff truly like their chances against the Crimson Tide, and thus have opened their doors to accomplished recruits during that weekend.
For the young receiver, he will get a chance to see the Wisconsin offense up close and personal for the first time.
Zachary Washington: “It Was a Really Good Visit”
For Washington, the recent and upcoming visits were both something he thoroughly enjoyed experiencing especially due to his staff connection. Wide Receivers Coach Kenny Guiton joined the Wisconsin football staff early this year and has since began to rekindle the relationships with recruits he had while at Arkansas. Guiton had scouted Washington in the past, but since taking a job far closer to the receiver the relationship has become much stronger.
When asked about why he has enjoyed Wisconsin so much, Washington stated, “It is really Coach Guiton at this point.” There are other factors that Washington has enjoyed about Wisconsin, but as previously stated in an interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, the receiver prioritizes staff relations and his comfortability over playing time or potential NIL opportunities.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers Football Team Secure a Win During Massive Recruiting Game?
It is one thing to have players experience the campus and the environment a team can provide on game day. However, it is an entirely different experience when recruits are able to witness a school pick up a big victory in front of their home crowd. It is a different type of energy and vibe that is given off that truly can sell a player on a school.
Wisconsin has the opportunity to do just that when Alabama rolls into town and prepares to defeat the Badgers in front of their own recruits. While Washington will be in attendance, there is also a number of other recruits who will be there and many who are still considering. Among the players considering is 2027 quarterback and priority target Teddy Jarrad, who is also fresh off of a visit to Madison.
No matter what state their program is in, defeating Alabama is a tough task and it will not be any easier even with the home field advantage. The big key to winning this early on is going to be stopping quarterback Jalen Milroe from finding ways to churn the offense. There is still plenty of time before the game, however, and new threats on their offense and defense could emerge.
