The Wisconsin football staff has taken a specific interest in one three-star safety from Arizona in the 2026 recruiting class.
Zeth Thues, a three-star 2026 safety from Arizona, currently holds eight scholarship offers and hopes to earn many more before next season. Thues is a dynamic, versatile safety that has drawn plenty of attention from power programs this summer. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Thues broke down his recruitment and current interest in the Wisconsin football program.
Wisconsin Football Three-Star Safety Target Seth Thues Excited For ‘Smooth Sailing’ Process
While it is still early for the 2026 recruiting class, three-star safety Zeth Thues is already focused on building relationships for the future. Thues, a 2026 safety from Arizona, is currently considered one of the top safeties in his state. The Wisconsin football staff has been watching Thues since his first season of high school football, and now hope to develop a relationship with the recruit.
When asked about the process, Thues stated it has been “smooth sailing” thus far as some programs have begun to contact him. The safety has kept close contact with Arizona State, Wisconsin, and Kansas State so far. Thues revealed those three programs to be his high-interest programs at the moment given his long-standing relationship with each.

Thues acknowledged that he had been a fan of Wisconsin and had watched them in the past, but that is not what has drawn him to them. When asked about what he looks for in a program, Thues stated, “I’m mainly looking for a program where they have an amazing environment all around and with coaches that are honest and there to build their players.”
The safety also went on to state, “Honestly, I am set on those three programs for sure. They’ve shown me love since the beginning of my high school career and I’ve started to build good connections with them.”
Thues has also placed a premium on developing relationships with each staff and getting to know what they look for on and off the field.

The key to landing Thues in the future for the Wisconsin football staff is going to be keeping a close relationship with the recruit. When asked about programs he would like to be in contact with, Thues acknowledged that his “dream” program had been the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, Thues stated, “I’ve recently been gravitating towards the programs who have been in contact with me often.”
The safety is focused on developing relationships at this point, and no matter the program if they do not show him interest, he will focus on who does. The first step for Wisconsin is going to be getting Thues onto campus in the future for a visit.
