With a recent commitment in the 2026 class for the Wisconsin football staff, it is time to take a closer look at the success of the recruit.
Quarterback Jarin Mock was one of many 2026 recruits recently on campus during an annual recruiting event hosted in Madison on campus. Following the event, Mock announced his commitment to the Wisconsin football team, becoming the first 2026 recruiting class commitment for the staff. Mock recently took the time to interview with the Wisconsin Sports Heroics staff, and gave a great insight into what he offers on the field.
Wisconsin Football Lands First 2026 Class Commitment With Quarterback Jarin Mock
During a new annual recruiting event held by the Wisconsin football staff on campus for students who are Juniors, the Badgers were able to land a commitment. Ohio native and dominant quarterback Jarin Mock announced his commitment to the Wisconsin football program while still on campus following his attendance at the event.
Mock and the Wisconsin football staff began contact early in May after offering the quarterback a scholarship. The quarterback previously attending an elite-level skills camp after being invited by the staff, and impressed during positional drills. Mock has also camped with Penn State in the past, but does not hold an offer from any other power conference programs outside of Wisconsin.
The commitment of Mock comes very early in the recruitment process for the recruit, which could become a test for the quarterback. Wisconsin likes players who are all in on the program and will not field any other others, although the quarterback will certainly receive plenty moving forward.
What can Jarin Mock Offer the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff on the Field?
On the field, Mock is a different type of quarterback compared to what the program currently has on their roster. Mock is an intelligent, strong-armed quarterback with an exceptional feel for the pocket and when he needs to deliver a strike. Not only can Mock time up a deep-ball excellently, but he can also do so when under serious pressure.
Along with his accuracy under pressure, Mock is also a quarterback that displays a great feel for the pocket and understands when he can stay and throw, and when he needs to escape. Even at 6-feet-3-inches, and 190-pounds, Mock has the speed and acceleration to get away from linemen and linebackers coming for the sack.
Mock has the intelligence and awareness to read the field while escaping pressure, and rarely makes the wrong decision when throwing. The intelligent and skillful play of the quarterback is largely what has drawn the Wisconsin football staff towards the quarterback.
Who Could Become the Next 2026 Commitment for Wisconsin Football?
With the commitment of Mock, the recruitment of the 2026 recruiting class has already begun for the Wisconsin football staff. After Mock announced his commitment, the question became who is going to be next for the Badgers staff?
Perhaps the biggest name and most interested at this moment is three-star interior offensive lineman Benjamin Novak. Novak, an Indiana native, has been in close contact with the Wisconsin football staff since earning a scholarship offer early last month. Novak also attended the same event as Mock, and recapped his visit shortly after stating it was an “amazing” experience meeting and spending time with the staff.
Novak can play virtually anywhere along the offensive line with his 6-foot-6-inch frame and dominant strength. The Badgers staff would love to land the big man, but it might take some time as he seems set on seeing most of the process through. However, with the impression the staff left during this recent camp, Novak could become a Badger soon.
