In an exclusive interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, quarterback Jarin Mock reveals what sets him apart from other passers.

Mock, an unranked quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class, has already earned himself a scholarship offer from the Wisconsin football staff. The talented two sport athlete is just getting started in terms of his recruitment, but is already bringing in major collegiate attention. During his interview, Mock opened up about what he feels will set him apart from other quarterback recruits.

Often times playing skills positions can be difficult due to the amount of players you must compete against at the position. However, for 2026 quarterback Jarin Mock, setting himself apart from other players has never been a very big issue. Mock, an Ohio native, already holds offers from the Wisconsin football program, Marshall and Central Michigan, with Kentucky and Ohio State also showing interest.

Currently, there are no 2026 recruiting rankings available, but if there were, Mock would likely be one of the top quarterbacks in the class. Mock admitted that the recruiting process has not been easy, but stated he would, “…stay level headed and humble while showing interest and taking down information from different coaches.”

The quarterback was then asked about what he feels sets him apart from other quarterbacks within the 2026 recruiting class. Mock kept it simple, and stated, “I can make every throw on the field. My package is not complete but I can throw every route.”

While Mock admits he still has some development that he needs to go through, he feels he can confidently make any throw he needs to. With the arm talent that Mock can provide, plenty of collegiate programs are going to come running.

While some recruits keep the same intense energy they have on the field even when they are off the field, Mock is just the opposite. Scrolling through photos of Mock competing in both football and basketball reveals a happy kid with a great big smile. In fact, it can be difficult to find an image where Mock does not seem happy to be where he is.

The quarterback acknowledges his great attitude, and credits much of his demeanor and success to his father. Mock went on to state, “My dad has been my shadow throughout everything. I followed him and my older brother to practice and workouts to get started.” The quarterback also stated that one phrase he was taught to live by was “Work hard and be nice to everyone.”

While Mock also credits his coaches and staff for getting him to this point, he feels he could not have done any of it without the guidance from his father.

For Mock, college football is not going to be just another stop in his overall football career as he feels he has the skills to make it to the pros. Mock stated that he does also share interest in Wisconsin, as the Badgers staff is deeply interested in the recruit. However, Mock also acknowledged that the NFL is his overarching goal, and whatever program offers the best chance at doing so will likely become his destination.

When asked about where he sees himself after college football, Mock stated, “The NFL. If not there, I will prepare myself another way with what I know to get there.” No matter if it is with the Wisconsin football program or not, Mock is determined to carve out a path to the NFL.
