The Wisconsin football staff are set to host a talented 2027 recruit from a familiar high school in Florida for a skills camp this weekend.
Ayden Gonzalez, an unranked 2027 wide receiver from Fort Myers, Florida, announced via social media that he will be attending an upcoming recruiting camp. Gonzalez is a skilled recruit but has largely flown under the radar thus far throughout his recruitment. The talented receiver could begin to gain traction with a solid camp in Madison and good performances in a slew of upcoming camps.
Gonzalez announced that he would also attend camps with Minnesota, Virginia Tech, and Coastal Carolina before returning back to Florida for good ahead of the season. The receiver is a member of a school that Wisconsin has recently become very familiar with. Gonzalez attends Bishop Verot Catholic High School, the same school current Wisconsin quarterback Carter Smith attended.

Previously, Gonzalez caught up with the Wisconsin football staff and expressed that the Badgers had been showing signs of early interest. Gonzalez also mentioned that Florida had been a school that was keeping an eye out, and could find his way on campus in the future.

When asked about the recruiting process, Gonzalez was brutally honest and stated, “Process has been slower than anticipated but I believe it will pick up.” Moving forward, Gonzalez hopes to not only draw more attention from schools but also hopes to find the perfect fit in the future.
Throughout the recruiting process, Gonzalez has expressed a desire to develop a deep and close relationship with the staff. The receiver wants coaches who are willing to push for both player and personal development. Gonzalez stated that there is “value beyond football” that coaches should strive to see out of players, and that type of encouragement is needed in the eyes of the receiver.
Along with a staff pushing for results, Gonzalez also admires an “infectious culture” that focuses heavily on playing high-caliber football. The receiver admires coaches who hold programs to a “higher standard” which is what the Wisconsin football staff has worked to establish as of late.
