The Wisconsin football staff, led by cornerbacks coach Paul Haynes, could secure a visit from a rising athlete following a new offer.
Keishjuan Telfair, a 2027 athlete from Ohio, is largely considered one of the top players in the state within the 2027 recruiting class. Telfair is currently ranked eighth in the state by Rivals and likely will continue to rise with another successful season ahead. Wisconsin joins a long, growing list of teams who have become strongly interested in what the talented athlete has to offer.
Wisconsin Football Extends Scholarship Offer to 2027 Defensive Back Keishjuan Telfair

The Wisconsin football staff watched Telfair dominate on the field after thumbing through film, which led to the athlete receiving a scholarship upon meeting Haynes.
Telfair stated that the offer was the result of a ‘great’ conversation with Haynes and that the offer also ‘meant a lot’ at the time. The first impression Telfair received from Haynes was positive as the athlete felt that Haynes was a ‘great’ coach.

The defensive back also added, “[Coach Paul Haynes] was telling me how him and the staff like what I’m doing and want me to come down.” The recruit has only just received a scholarship, but already plans on spending time on campus in Madison in the near future.
The athlete stated that a visit will happen, but currently there are ‘no dates’ set with the staff just yet.
Telfair also holds offers from Big Ten Conference programs Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan State, and Penn State. Ohio State has also shown interest in the in-state talent but has not yet extended a scholarship offer, which will likely happen in the future.
What Could Telfair Offer the Wisconsin Badgers on the Field?

While Telfair is only just beginning to develop a relationship with Wisconsin, the possible fit on the field within the program can be seen.
Standing in at 6-feet, 160-pounds, Telfair is dynamic and instinctual athlete who has the ability to play a variety of positions. Telfair lists himself as an athlete with a background playing receiver and cornerback, but some programs are already eyeing the recruiting with the idea of playing safety in mind.
What really allows Telfair to make a difference on the field for the defense are the incredible instincts Telfair possesses. The athlete consistently jumps routes to make a play on the football, which is a product of studying the quarterback mid-play.
This past season, Telfair put his defensive prowess on display by causing chaos in the passing game against opposing teams. Telfair watches the eyes of the quarterback and has the athleticism to react fast enough to what is being processed.
The combination of football intelligence, reaction speed, and awareness creates for a difficult player to escape.
