The Wisconsin football staff has begun working to lock-in recruits for their home games this season, with an in-state athlete already scheduled.
Iola-Scandinavia quarterback Jensen Rice has booked a visit with Wisconsin for their game on September 7th against South Dakota. Rice is one of many in-state recruits who will attend the game this upcoming season. The athlete solidified himself as a standout on the football field the past season, playing both defensive back and quarterback.
Wisconsin Football Locks-In Game Visit With Iola-Scandinavia Athlete Jensen Rice
The Wisconsin football staff has extended invitations to multiple recruits to visit some of their upcoming home games this season. Among the players receiving invitations is in-state athlete Jensen Rice, a member of the Iola-Scandinavia football team. The recruit will be attending the September 7th game against South Dakota as a prospect, which allows him to get a closer experience of game-day.
Rice is an accomplished track runner and football player known for his speed and ability to maneuver. The athlete has been in touch with North Dakota State University and South Dakota State University along with the Wisconsin football program. The Wisconsin native grew up a Florida State Seminoles fan, and hopes to one day earn an offer from them, but is grateful for all the offers that present themselves.
Jensen Rice: “I Think My Ability to Stop and Start Moving Really Helps”
For Rice, one thing that has truly come easy for the athlete is speed as he is also an accomplished track runner. The athlete is able to cut and move at a high rate of speed, which makes it difficult for defenders to truly know where Rice is going. Rice is also able to reach his top speed very quickly and blow past the second level of defenders with such a fast start.
When asked about his play on the field and what he feels sets himself apart, Rice stated, “I think my ability to stop and start moving really helps.” The athlete also has an amazing level of versatility to his game as he can play defensive back, quarterback, wide receiver, or return punts and kicks when needed.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Aiming to Impress Versatile Athlete
If there is one thing the Wisconsin football staff truly loves, it is a versatile player, whether he can play multiple positions or multiple play-styles. Rice has truly solidified himself as that type of player with the potential of playing multiple positions at the next level.
When asked about what position he would play, Rice stated, “Either corner or I believe I could play receiver or return man.” Many of the programs speaking to Rice have not gotten into specifics regarding his position and role on the team in the future. Instead, Rice is preparing himself to be able to play whatever is needed to benefit the team.
Wisconsin loves versatility and Rice oozes it in both the way he plays football and his raw athletic skills. The athlete could become a Badger in the future as he continues to fly under the radar of major programs.
