In an exclusive interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, a Wisconsin football target opened up about his recruitment and abilities.
Jack Wilson, a 2026 linebacker from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, has been a player recently gaining the interest of the football staff. Wilson has been around the Wisconsin football program for some time, but has recently been receiving the attention he truly deserves. During his interview, Wilson broke down what sets him apart as a linebacker as well as what an offer from Wisconsin would mean.
Wisconsin Football Targeting In-State Linebacker, Mount Horeb Leader Jack Wilson
Following a successful season and multiple productive camps, the Wisconsin football staff has placed Mount Horeb linebacker Jack Wilson on their radar. Wilson, an in-state linebacker who has made a name for himself as a tackling machine, is widely considered one of the top defenders in the state. The linebacker is not pulling in major scholarship offers yet, but has gained interest from Wisconsin football, Syracuse, Oklahoma, and Minnesota to name a few.
Currently, Wilson is camping with he Wisconsin football staff and taking time to compete for them.
Jack Wilson: “I’ve Grown up Around the Badgers and Have Always Loved the Program”
For Wilson, the interest from the Badgers is special due to his proximity to campus and experiences growing up. The linebacker stated however, “It is all about the program fits for me. I am definitely not limiting myself to staying close to home.”
As amazing as a Wisconsin football offer would be, the Badgers still have to work hard to impress Wilson and land a future commitment. Wilson also stated that the “academic offerings” and “coaching staff” are the two biggest keys to his recruitment. The linebacker is determined to feel at home wherever he plays next, even if that means leaving Wisconsin to pursue different opportunities.
Can The Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Land Wilson In The Future?
The ball is certainly in the court of the Wisconsin football staff as Wilson has been a lifelong fan of the program. Wilson stated, “Wisconsin is definitely one of my top schools, if not my top school. I’ve grown up around the Badgers and always loved the program.”
As much as Wilson would love to stay home, however, the Badgers staff will need to prove to Wilson he is a good fit before reaching any sort of commitment. Wilson stated, “I would love to stay close to home, however for me, it is all about how the program fits me.”
