Wisconsin Football: Ricardo Hallman Gets Brutally Honest About Devastating Loss to Alabama Crimson Tide

Wisconsin football got a taste of harsh reality on Saturday when the Badgers got demolished by the Alabama Crimson Tide at home. The 42-10 loss at the hands of the SEC powerhouse was the first defeat of the 2024 college football season for the Badgers, who simply got overpowered in virtually every aspect of the contest.

After the tough loss in Madison by the Badgers, Wisconsin football cornerback Ricardo Hallman did not try to hide his thoughts about where his team stands as opposed to Alabama.

Via Jesse Temple of The Athletic:

โ€œItโ€™s easy for me to say, โ€˜Oh, no, you canโ€™t judge us off of that,โ€™โ€ Wisconsin cornerback Ricardo Hallman said. โ€œBut at the same time, you guys saw that. Alabama is one of the juggernauts in college football. Thatโ€™s where we want to be as a team, and we got completely obliterated today, and that was terrible. So itโ€™s easy for me to say, โ€˜Oh, you canโ€™t judge us.โ€™ But I donโ€™t know really what to say to that. This was an early season test we failed.โ€

The Badgers came up with just 290 total yards versus Alabama, which racked up 407 yards of its own. Crimson Tide quarterback Jalen Milroe passed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on 12/17 completions while also rushing for two scores and 75 yards on 14 carries. What made the day worse for Wisconsin was the injury suffered by starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke early in the contest. Wisconsin went just 3/14 on first downs and turned the ball over twice.

It is not about to get much easier for Wisconsin, as the Badgers will be playing their first road game of the season against a ranked team in the form of the USC Trojans on September 28.ย
