The Wisconsin football staff has booked a 2026 recruiting visitor for the upcoming South Dakota game this season.

Wisconsin has turned both their South Dakota and Alabama home games into recruiting hotbeds during this upcoming season with an abundance of visitors. Among the scheduled visitors for the South Dakota game is 2026 in-state offensive tackle Gavin Meier. Meier is a physical lineman still working towards a scholarship from the Badgers, but has received plenty of attention from them.

the Wisconsin football staff has secured another visitor for the upcoming South Dakota clash this season, this time from the 2026 recruiting class. In-state offensive tackle Gavin Meier is set to visit the Badgers during their game and take in the full game experience.

Meier currently holds one scholarship offer from Northern Illinois, but has been working his way towards earning bigger offers. The Wisconsin football staff has been keeping a close eye on the offense tackle and feels that he could be a great collegiate player in the future. With more time and development off the field, Meier can certainly propel himself into a position where he earns a Badgers scholarship offer.

Gavin Meier: “I’m Super Excited to See What the Next Level is Really Like Up and Close.”

For Meier, a big portion of the visit is surrounded by excitement as he gets to watch the next level of football up close and personal. Since Meier was invited to attend as a recruit and not just a fan, the offensive tackle will get to truly feel what the on-field atmosphere is like in Madison.

When asked about the visit and his thoughts, Meier stated, “I’m super excited to see the next level is really like up and close.” The offensive tackle also added, “I’m also super excited to see what the team atmosphere is like in person.”

While there is a huge level of excitement to the visit for Meier, the offensive tackle also has not forgotten why he is attending the game. When asked about how he is going to view the game, Meier stated, “It’s super important to always take it in, but I am also looking for success from not only the offensive line but in the whole team.”

Meier is there to have fun and enjoy watching college football up close, but also plans on paying close attention to different aspects of the game and the team as well. Meier stated, “I’m always paying attention to culture though on and off the field too as I feel culture is very important in a program.” The offensive tackle wants to also see how the team composes themselves and they have mesh throughout the game.
