Recently, high four-star 2026 recruit and Wisconsin football priority target Cincere Johnson spoke about his recruitment.
Johnson, an Ohio native and four-star linebacker, was offered a scholarship by the Wisconsin football staff back in April. The recruit has since exploded and received extreme attention from multiple major programs including Ohio State and Notre Dame. The linebacker holds 15 major scholarship offers at the moment, which will likely change rapidly this summer.
Wisconsin Football Priority Target Cincere Johnson Reveals Keys to Successful Season
If there is one 2026 recruit that truly propelled himself this past season, it would be four-star linebacker Cincere Johnson of Ohio. Johnson considers himself to be the ‘Enforcer’ on the football field and gladly fills that role with his performances each game. The linebacker categorizes his play as “smart and explosive” on the field and believes he is truly a game-changer when out there.
This past season, Johnson recorded 121 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles. His incredible performance this past season as a Sophomore earned him a handful of scholarship offers from programs like Louisville, Michigan State, Indiana, West Virginia, and Texas A&M.
While he has not received any offers yet, the linebacker tells Wisconsin Sports Heroics he is also in contact with Ohio State and Michigan.

If there is one thing that Johnson truly enjoys about the Wisconsin football program, it is their track record. Johnson admitted that their success stories developing linebackers and producing NFL talent has been intriguing for him.
For Johnson, his collegiate home needs to be somewhere that will not just ensure that he can develop his skills on the field. The linebacker was quoted saying, “I’m looking for an all around school that would develop me on and off the field.” Johnson went on to also state, “Also somewhere that would set me up for life and even after football.”
As big as his aspirations are to make the NFL, Johnson is still a realist and understands that there will be a life he must live after football.

While the Wisconsin football staff is still getting to know Johnson both on and off the field, the Badgers have certainly placed a priority on the linebacker. Johnson embodies the type of spirit, attitude, and football prowess that Wisconsin is looking for in all of their athletes. His aggressive play style and ridiculous production on the field has forced Wisconsin to keep a close eye on Johnson while staying in close contact.
