The Wisconsin football staff had plenty of 2027 recruits on campus for the Bucky’s BBQ festivities including a top target at quarterback.
Chance Thomas, a 2027 three-star quarterback from Anaheim, California, has been one of the busiest recruits in the 2027 class. Thomas announced recently a slate of visits set to take up almost the entire month of June. The recruit visited SMU, Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, and North Carolina before touching down in Madison.
Following a productive Madison visit, Thomas is set to hit Florida and make two stops along the way. Thomas will visit the UCF Knights and the Miami Hurricanes during his time in the state. When asked about his upcoming trip to Florida, Thomas responded, “I can’t wait to get down to both of those schools and see what everyone is talking about there.”

The talented quarterback has been very busy visiting different programs as of late which is a product of the surge in scholarships Thomas recently saw. The quarterback picked up offers from Hawaii, Kansas, North Carolina, and Wisconsin during the month of May bringing his total of offers up to 16.
Wisconsin Football Staff Hosts 2027 Three-Star Quarterback Chance Thomas For an Unofficial Visit

After picking up an offer from the Wisconsin football staff less than a month ago, the Badgers have already managed to bring Thomas on campus for quite a productive evening.
Following the visit the quarterback was asked about the potential of booking another visit in the future, to which he responded, “100%. I am also going to try to make it down for a game this year.” Having the California native on campus once again would be a tremendous win for the Wisconsin football staff.
Thomas is one of the top quarterbacks in the class in the eyes of Wisconsin who have been speaking with the recruit plenty as of late. Wisconsin has also been a big fan of high three-star quarterback Teddy Jarrad, who has been on campus multiple times already. Thomas and Jarrad share similarities, however, Thomas could become the better fit within the Wisconsin offense.
The big quarterbacks stands tall at 6-feet-2-inches, and roughly 200-pounds with a lively arm and an athletic build. Thomas is comfortable both inside and outside of the pocket making throws and the quarterback regularly exits the pocket to create plays for the offense. Thomas works to find the correct angle and make the right throw when controlling the football.
On the ground, Thomas is not a scramble-minded quarterback but has more than enough talent as a runner to gain a quick first down or run in a close score. The true potential for Thomas lies in his arm talent and with the right help at the collegiate level the quarterback could develop into a high-level starter.
