Recently after the 2026 recruiting period opened, the Wisconsin football staff initiated contact with a three-star defensive back.
Amar’e Miller, a 2026 three-star defensive back, has been in contact with plenty of programs since the opening of the recruiting period. Miller is a versatile defensive back that has a great understand of both his position and football in general. During a recent interview with Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Miller revealed the programs that have shown the most interest in him.
Wisconsin Football, Penn State Eyeing 2026 Defensive Back Amar’e Miller
Shortly after the opening of the 2026 recruiting period, the Wisconsin football staff made contact with three-star defensive back Amar’e Miller for the first time. Miller is listed as a safety on most databases but also has plenty of experience playing as a cornerback during his high school career.
While it is early in his recruitment, Miller stated, “The schools that have been in contact the most so far are Penn State, Wake Forest, and Toledo.” The defensive back continued to state, “But there have been a lot of programs that I have been in contact with like Ohio State, Florida, and Alabama.”
Amar’e Miller: “I Am Just Getting Started, I Am Still Growing Physically and Mentally”
For Miller, the defensive back feels like he is truly just getting started on the field and has not gotten close to his potential. The defensive back stated, “I am just getting started, I am still growing physically and mentally. My doctor believes I can grow to 6’2″-6’3″.”
Mentally, Miller feels he is still learning more about the game each time he steps out on the field. Miller stated, “There is so much more that I can learn about the game to make me even better.” With enough time and enough preparation, Miller feels he can continue to develop into a monstrous defensive back.
Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Hoping to Develop Future Relationship
While it is still early, the Wisconsin football staff is hoping to develop a relationship with Miller moving forward. The two sides have only just initiated contact, and Wisconsin has a staff that is in it for the long haul.
Miller is focused on developing a relationship with both the staff and school of whichever program he eventually chooses. The defensive back feels that the strength of the relationship is the key to his recruitment moving forward. If the Wisconsin football staff can maintain diligent contact with Miller, they could become a potential landing spot.
