Former Wisconsin football running back Braelon Allen is starting to turn heads in the NFL. The New York Jets rookie tailback is only 20 years old, but his youth has not stopped him from getting attention in Week 2’s 24-17 road win over the Tennessee Titans. In that game, Allen rushed for a touchdown and had a receiving TD.
With that performance, Allen became the youngest player in the NFL since 1930 to score a touchdown from scrimmage.
Being around a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers is seemingly beneficial for Allen, who continues to learn the ways in the pros.

Allen recently opened up about what it’s like playing with Rodgers, a lock to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame once he calls it a career.
Via Rich Cimini of ESPN:
The 6-foot, 235-pound Allen grew up in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, watching Rodgers’ games on TV. Now he’s in the same huddle as the future Hall of Famer.
“It’s awesome,” said Allen, drafted in the fourth round. “Not a lot of people have that opportunity, to be this young in this position at this stage of their life. I’m extremely blessed and proud. I’m just trying to keep stacking.”
The Jets are still treating Breece Hall as their number-one running back, but Allen is making the most out of the opportunities New York is giving him. On the season, the Wisconsin football product is averaging 5.1 yards per carry and 10.7 yards per catch.
Allen can continue impressing in Week 3 when the Jets play their first game of the season against a divisional rival in the form of the New England Patriots at home.
