The Wisconsin basketball team has landed a big commitment today in the form of an in-state center that has been on the Badgers radar.
Will Garlock, a three-star center from Middleton, Wisconsin has announced his commitment to the Badgers after multiple visits and plenty consideration. Garlock is a lengthy, dual-minded center that looks for lanes to block shots, or finishes plays for his fellow guards. The center also held offers from Iowa, Marquette, and Virginia Tech but ultimately stuck with the hometown Wisconsin basketball program.
Wisconsin Basketball Earns Commitment From Dynamic Center Recruit Will Garlock
The Wisconsin basketball staff has finally landed one of their priority targets of the 2025 class. The Badgers have secured a commitment from Middleton center Will Garlock after nearly two years of consistent recruitment for the player. Garlock is a big addition to the 2025 class for Wisconsin as they currently only have one other commitment in De Pete guard Zach Kinziger.
Both Kinziger and Garlock comprise the Wisconsin basketball 2025 recruiting class which could grow in the future. Kai Rogers and Davion Hannah, both in-state stars, are the next two targets on the Wisconsin basketball recruiting list that the Badgers are aiming to recruit hard.
Will Garlock Can Find His Way Into the Wisconsin Badgers Basketball Rotation in No Time
In the case of Garlock, playing time could become something the recruit earns rather quickly given his size and skills. The Badgers and Head Coach Greg Gard have been known to give playing time to players who earn it through hard, successful practices. Garlock, who is a high-motor big-man standing at nearly 7-feet tall, loves to cut fill the lanes and finish buckets for his team.
If there has been one thing the Badgers have seemed to lack at the center position over the last few seasons, it has been physicality and athleticism. The position of center has changed over the past few years, but the Badgers have struggled to keep up thus far. Enter Will Garlock, and the Wisconsin basketball team could have a potential solution in the future.
Garlock still needs time to bulk up for college as he currently weighs in at 215-pounds, but with more weight on his frame the center could be a monster down low.
Wisconsin Basketball Secures an In-State Commitment to Add to 2025 Recruiting Class
Thus far the trend for Wisconsin basketball in the 2025 recruiting class has been recruit the states of Wisconsin and Indiana. There is no doubt that great players have come out of each state, but the 2025 class in particular seems to be stacked with extreme amounts of talent.
Wisconsin currently has two top-100 nationally ranked recruits, while Indiana has six including combo guard and five-star recruit Jalen Haralson. The Wisconsin basketball staff has kept a close eye on Haralson, but also has major interest in fellow Indiana native and four-star forward Trent Sisley. Sisley has major Big Ten interest, but has also been in close contact with Louisville basketball recently.
