Wisconsin basketball has unveiled a new “dark mode” jersey. Designed by players in partnership with Under Armor, the threads are a fresh take on the university’s defense of diversity and inclusion. The uniforms mark the Wisconsin Men’s third Collaboration with under armor and will be worn December 23rd at home when the Badgers take on Grambling State. In honor of Black History Month, the Jerseys will be worn on an undisclosed date in February. According to the University, neither jersey will be available for public purchase.
As displayed here, the uniforms are black, red, and gold. Gold stripes run vertically, affirming three words, Equality, Unity, and Wisconsin Forward. The University of Wisconsin women’s basketball program also unveiled an alternative jersey. The women’s jersey displays a large W on the center of the uniform above the player numbers. The jerseys will depict the words representing the five pillars of the program, Winning Mindset, Integrity, Selflessness, Communication, and Legacy. November 13, Wisconsin will unveil the women’s alternative uniforms when the girls play North Florida at home.
Public perception appears positive.

The Badger Basketball team opens their season on November 7th against the South Dakota Coyotes. Greg Gard is in his eighth season as head coach of the badgers. Gard sports an impressive 144-78 record as the Badger’s head coach. The 2021-2022 Badgers finished 28-8, led by First-Team All-American Johnny Davis, who was picked 10th in the 2022 NBA draft. Without Davis, returning starters Chucky Hepburn, Tyler Wahl, and Steven Crown will have to shoulder the burden. Wisconsin adds Max Klesmit and Kamari McGee via transfer, which will help single freshmen recruit 3-star shooting guard Connor Essegian.
