Wisconsin basketball has a long history of great teams. When Bo Ryan abruptly retired, many wondered if Greg Gard would be able to keep the greatness going. The answer seems to be yes as he has the Badgers ranked no. 14 and playing really well. Gard is also proving that he is able to bring in recruits to the program. Yesterday, the Badgers signed Jack Janicki as a preferred walk-on.
Wisconsin got another good one 💥💯
Excited to officially announce that Jack Janicki has signed on to be a Badger as part of our 2023 Signing Class

Jack Janicki Joins Wisconsin Basketball
Janicki is a 6’4″ shooting guard out of White Bear Lake, Minnesota. He has a storied career at his high school entering his senior year just shy of 1,500 points. It is likely that he will become the school’s first-ever 2,000-point scorer. He already is the all-time school leader in steals with over 200 in his career. As a junior, he averaged 24.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4 assists a game. His height gives him exceptional rebounding skills for a shooting guard. He turned down many scholarship offers in order to come and play for the Wisconsin basketball program.
Leadership Qualities
What impressed Greg Gard the most was his leadership abilities. He is a three-time team captain and he holds a 4.2 GPA at his high school. Gard talked about Janicki’s qualities in a recent interview saying,
“Jack has natural leadership intangibles as a combo guard and understands the importance of the game’s fundamentals. His defensive mindset and willingness to do whatever his team needs make him a great fit in our locker room. Equally, Jack is well-prepared academically and is a hard worker in the classroom”
He looked to be a perfect fit for the Wisconsin basketball program. He joins the class of 2023.
Jack Janicki looks to fit the profile of a Wisconsin Badger. Hopefully, he will become the next great shooting guard for the Wisconsin basketball program.
