Over the weekend, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that former Wisconsin basketball star Frank Kaminsky has joined the player pool of the NBA G League, with the expectation that the ex-Badgers will suit up for Toronto’s affiliate, Raptors 905.
Veteran big man Frank Kaminsky has entered the @nbagleague player pool in time for next week’s G League Showcase in Orlando, league sources say. Kaminsky is expected to land with Toronto’s @raptors905 affiliate.
On Monday, the Raptors 905 made an official announcement that Kaminsky is headed to the team’s roster.

This move by Raptors 905 comes just before the 2024 NBAGL Winter Showcase in Orlando.
More from Blake Murphy of Sportsnet:
Raptors 905 have a high waiver priority from losing Carlson to the Thunder and him lasting 21+ days.
Kaminsky, 31, isn’t 2-way eligible but this is a spot for him to show out for other NBA teams ahead of 10-day contract season in January.
Helps 905 immensely on offense, too.
Here are some reactions from fans online to Kaminsky’s latest move:
“FRANK THE TANK 🔥”
“I would actually watch a game because of this signing”
“omg I love this signing 🔥”
“The best player to ever come out of Wisconsin is a G league player 😭”
“He should be in the NBA”

Before this latest career move, Kaminsky played in Serbia for Partizan Belgrade and also donned the country’s colors at the AmeriCup qualifying games in November.
Kaminsky, who has eight years of experience in the NBA, will always be known for his exploits on the court during his time with Wisconsin basketball. In four seasons with the Badgers, Kaminsky averaged 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 52.2 percent from the floor and 36.9 percent from deep.
He was also named the National College Player of the Year in 2015. The Charlotte Hornets picked him ninth overall in the first round of the 2015 NBA draft. He suited up for the Phoenix Suns, Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets in the NBA as well.
